The Challenge
Grant Thornton was writing forty to fifty thousand cheques annually, so an EFT solution was a 'must have'.
For Jim Bromilow, Corporate Controller for Grant Thornton, the biggest difficulty they had when looking at EFT applications was not so much on the payables side, but integration with the banks. He also wanted to avoid dealing with a 3rd party application that “feels like a bolt-on”.
The Solution
After an extensive investigation of available options, including the Sage in-house module and a number of other 3rd party offerings, they settled on Orchid Systems’ EFT Processing product.
“It was just the best fit”, said Jim. "Operating within the Sage 300 SDK it offers seamless integration."
Users don’t have to learn another system, as it has the same look and feel as Sage 300.
The Result
Jim found that integration with the banks was one of Orchid’s main strengths. “They do an excellent job of customising the file formats being sent to the various banks. We had to do some customisation quickly, as two of the banks we dealt with changed their formats at short notice. Orchid was able to turn around the changes within 24 hours."
The support we receive from Orchid is top notch, and the Return on Investment was pretty much immediate.
