Orchid modules let you tailor Sage 300...without leaving the tent!
As users bump up against the boundaries of Sage 300 it’s common for them to start looking outside for solutions, or relying more and more on external data. A key selling point for Orchid’s modules is that they work within the Sage 300 environment. This has a range of benefits for customers, including:
- It supports collaboration by allowing users share data without having to leave Sage 300.
- It improves efficiency, e.g. by reducing or eliminating duplicate data entry
- It reduces risk, by having key data and logic stored within the Sage 300 database.
- It simplifies operations, by reducing the need for additional software purchases.

Extender may be Orchid's most powerful product. Ian Cook of Kerr Consulting went further, saying "it might be the most powerful third party app ever". High praise indeed, but who are we to argue! It could also lay claim to being our least understood, perhaps due to its chameleon-like adaptability.
In short, Extender:
- Monitors changes to Sage 300 data, and initiates a specified action (e.g. logging, alerts, validation) when a specified event takes place.
- Allows you to develop your own modules for your customers, by creating customized Sage 300 Views and Screens using the Python scripting language.
