Orchid Hawaii and TPAC

Orchid on the road again, and making ourselves at home in Canada

Anne and Steve are basing themselves in Toronto for a month between TPAC and Sage Summit, and using the time to get up close and personal with some of our local business partners.

Orchid have been regular visitors to the US and Canada for many years now, attending 15 consecutive TPAC conferences, and almost too many Sage Summits to mention. These have generally been short “fly-in, fly-out” trips, but this year we are trying something different.

Steve and Anne are making Toronto their temporary base for a month, and all up Anne is spending over 6 weeks away from home.

Here’s a taste of what we've been up to, or still have planned.

  • Nathalie travelled with Anne to Honolulu, where they ran an intimate Developer Retreat at the start of April.
  • While Nathalie returned to Australia, Steve flew out to join Anne at Niagara Falls for TPAC, preceded by a couple of days of pre-conference training.
  • After TPAC, Steve and Anne spent some very productive time at the BAASS offices in Toronto, providing training to a range of sales staff, consultants and developers. It was so successful that Anne was invited back for more.
  • In late April Steve will be making an excursion to Alberta. He’ll be running business partner training sessions in Edmonton and Calgary, then heading to Lethbridge to attend an Asyma Systems customer event.
  • Anne and Steve will then remain in Toronto for a further couple of weeks, before heading to Atlanta for Sage Summit, then home to Sydney mid May.

With many of our business partners located in the region, being in Canada has allowed us to take up opportunities for impromptu chats and meetings. While these can't always be face to face, just being in the same time zone is a welcome change for us!

Of course, a trip like this could never be all work and no play. As well as enjoying Honolulu and Waikiki Anne and Nathalie had a relaxing couple of days on the north coast of O’ahu. In Toronto, the Lavery family have been showing Steve and Anne a good time. This included a mystery excursion with Rob, Fanny, Nancy and Stefan. They ended up at a somewhat damp Horton Tree Farms, where they saw maple syrup being made, from sap to bottle.

See you in Toronto?

If any of our business partners in the area would like to catch up with Anne and/or Steve while they are in your neck of the woods, don’t be shy! Make contact with them, and they’ll do their best to accommodate you.
